Rome’s weather was so changeable in June. In
the morning it rained dogs and cats when we in Cathedral Rome and the Pope came
out. When we went along the way to museum, it started to stop, as coming to the
little mysterious vintage store, it was just very shinning and so were the
jewelries in window! So we got into the wonderful place and excited at such a
discovery. Most of those are Tirifari, so they’re not real jewelry, if you know
that Tirifari makes famous from its lasting and durable imitation gold skin-,
pearls shaped and resin material- (the series of “Jelly Bellies”) necklaces,
rings, earrings, brooches…because during the second war of world, real mental
trading is forbidden. It’s still worthy collecting. Every time I saw them, I
just could smell the elegance of the past time: although very short of
resource, women still had mind to be pretty, maybe they were waiting their
husbands at any possible moment, maybe they just went to contribute on the
street, maybe they participated a event to encourage the army.

What women carried on has proved it: Keep pretty and let live go on.

在罗马，六月的天也是孩子的脸——说变就变。早上我们到达罗马大教堂，教父出来巡游的时候还是倾盆大雨，沿路走去博物馆的路上雨就渐渐停了，等走到那个神奇的小店，阳光闪烁！打在珠宝上也熠熠生辉！我们赶紧进去，开心于发现这个美丽的地方。大部分珠宝是Trifari的，当然如果你了解这个牌子的珠宝，你就知道并不能称它为真正的珠宝：二战时期因为黄金白银等贵金属是禁止买卖的，Trifari使用经久耐用的黄金表面、珍珠造型和树脂材料（这个系列叫“果冻肚皮”）打造地项链、戒指、耳环、胸针等等非常出名。至今也是很有收藏价值。每次我看到它们，依然可以感受当时佩戴它们的妇女的优雅：即使物资短缺她们依然醉心打扮自己。也许是为了随时会回来的丈夫，也许她们只是去街边捐款，也许是参加慰军的晚宴……
乔治六世对民众呼唤：“保持冷静，坚持前行。”妇女们的穿戴正是最好的诠释。保持美丽，让生活继续。
